If you’re not sure where to start when it comes to getting in shape, working with a personal trainer could be the key to reaching your goals and seeing results.

Our FIT Coaches will provide a 1-on-1 personalized program design to help you get started in your fitness journey or push you to the next level—and you can get started right away with a free consultation. Your personal trainer will help you stay motivated, keep you accountable, and provide personalized fitness and nutrition advice for your unique needs.

Still not sure? Here are four ways to get the most out of your relationship with your personal trainer.

BE CLEAR ABOUT YOUR GOALS

Your trainer wants to help you reach your fitness goals, but they can’t read your mind. When you first meet, be really clear about what you’re hoping to accomplish, and ask them how you can track your progress. Whether you’re working towards losing weight, building muscle, or increasing your energy levels, they can help you develop a workout plan that’s perfect for your goals and your current stage of fitness.

BE HONEST ABOUT YOUR CONCERNS

It’s normal to have some concerns when you’re starting something new. So, if you’re worried that you’re gonna fall off the workout bandwagon (again), tell your trainer! Or, if you’re completely terrified of CrossFit, don’t be shy! If you’re open about your doubts, your trainer can help you work through your fears, choose the right options, and avoid anything that isn’t the right fit right now.

EXPLAIN YOUR HISTORY

Your trainer needs to know a little bit about your background so that they are equipped to help you reach success. While you don’t need to give them your life story, make sure that they know everything relevant to your health and fitness. If you have a history of yo-yo dieting or quitting gyms, let them know. And, even more importantly, if you have any prior health issues, make sure that they’re aware of every details. Intense exercise could put an unhealthy strain on previous injuries, so it’s crucial that your trainer understands your health background.

ASK LOTS OF QUESTIONS

Finally, your trainer doesn’t expect you to know everything right off the bat. Don’t be afraid to ask questions about group classes, fitness equipment, or nutrition plans. Our trainers are there to help you get started on the right foot, so they’re happy to review the basics, explain anything complicated or confusing, and make sure that you’re ready to go.
